Christine DeHart

Not only is Christine a lifelong Staten Islander, her family was among the original settlers to the borough who immigrated from Germany in the 1600s. With roots that deep, Christine has always been dedicated to serving the community so many generations of DeHarts have loved. After being in the real estate business for 29 years -- the last five at Salmon Real Estate -- Christine learned that Jon Salmon was ready to sell his more than 6-decade old family-owned agency. She didn’t hesitate to seize the opportunity. “My family has always owned their own businesses, so I knew I always wanted to own my own real estate agency,” says Christine, noting her late dad, Charles DeHart, who was a plumber and a builder, would have been proud of her accomplishments today. “I feel like my father is looking down saying, ‘She’s done it.’ I know he’s proud. ...I hope to continue and build on the reputation that Jon and his father, Egon, have established.'” After purchasing the business in 2020, Christine is determined to take Salmon Real Estate to the next level. As a full-service agency, she plans to become the top selling real estate business on Staten Island. GROWING UP IN THE BUSINESS Having grown up in the real estate business, Christine’s family owned and operated McCarty Plumbing, Tower Estates, and a property management firm, for more than 40 years on Staten Island. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the College of Staten Island, Christine went into the family business. To start, she took the helm in managing a 52-unit rent stabilized building. “I enjoyed the challenge of finding a problem and correcting it. I loved helping people find their homes, as well as protect their investments,” says Christine. Having obtained a certification as Property Manager from The New York Real Estate Institute, Christine became certified by the National Association of Realtors as an internet Real Estate E-Pro. In fact, she has earned the title of Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). This designation means that Christine has the knowledge and expertise to counsel clients 50+ through major financial and lifestyle transitions in relocating, refinancing or selling family homes. Christine also has completed The City of New York Residential Property Management course, as well as the Working with Tenants course. Growing up in the same community where she works taught Christine to try to “bring out the best in every property.” She also strives to be an asset to her community by being honest and fair. “I learned from my father to work hard and always do the best job possible, no matter what the task entails,” she says. Christine is also heavily involved in the community in which she lives and works. “I have been blessed with a great family and had a wonderful start in life. Now I feel the need to give back to those who may need a helping hand. I love it when I get to see the impact my hard work has on the community,” she said.
